Never Forget

Every year on October 9th, people around the globe come together to celebrate World Post Day, a tribute to one of the oldest and most meaningful forms of human connection — the postal service. This special day marks the anniversary of the founding of the Universal Postal Union in 1874, a moment that forever changed how the world communicates.

The postal service has always been more than just a way to send letters. It has carried love across oceans, delivered news that changed lives, and brought comfort during difficult times. In a world where instant messages and emails are the norm, the simple act of sending or receiving a letter still holds a kind of magic that technology can’t replace.

"The post is the silent messenger of human connection."

A handwritten letter carries with it the thoughts, feelings, and presence of the sender. It reminds us that someone, somewhere, took the time to sit down and think of us.

World Post Day is also a chance to recognize the role of the modern postal system. Today, it supports not only communication but also online shopping, banking services, and essential deliveries to the most remote corners of the world. Behind every delivery is a dedicated postal worker who faces all kinds of weather and challenges to make sure our messages and parcels reach their destinations.

"To write is human, to deliver is divine."

     - Author Susan Lendroth -

That simple idea captures just how powerful and often overlooked the postal system is in our lives.

On this World Post Day, let’s take a moment to appreciate the letter, the postman, and the unseen effort that keeps us all connected — no matter the distance.
